About

We are a registered charity

Deedlebug Cat Rescue Incorporated was established in 2020.

Deedlebug is based in the northern beach suburbs of Perth, Western Australia and is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming cats and kittens in need. The rescue is run by a team of experienced and committed volunteers and is funded wholly through donations.

Deedlebug is able to assist with cats and kittens who are lost, stray, abandoned, at risk of euthanasia and who need to be surrendered. We also assist low income families, or families in financial crisis, with subsidized desexing and microchipping of cats and kittens. In some circumstances, we are also able to help with owner-assisted rehoming of cats.

Deedlebug Cat Rescue is registered with the Australian Charities and not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), holds a current WA Charitable Collections License, and all donations to Deedlebug over $2 are tax deductible.

At Deedlebug, we ensure that our rescued and rehabilitated cats can put their best paw forward, and that they get the best fur-ever home possible. After they are rescued, all cats and kittens are placed in secure and loving foster homes where they receive any necessary vetwork, good quality food, care and socialisation. Once rehabilitated, these cats and kittens are rehomed into responsible fur-ever homes. We stress to adopters the importance of keeping cats indoors/in secure enclosures both for the safety of cats and to protect native wildlife.

Cats and kittens in the care of Deedelbug are only rehomed after they have received their essential vet-work - desexing, microchipping, flea/worm treatment, up-to-date vaccination and general health check. We make no exceptions to this policy.

All cats and kittens are rehomed on a two-week trial period. We send all our adoptive owners home with lots of advice and support, and are happy to work closely with you through to the long-term to ensure the smoothest rehoming process possible.
