They say the eyes are a window to your soul and sweet boy Tiggas eyes will definitely tell you a story.

Tiggas Deedlebug story started when he was found abandoned in a locked pet carrier at a park. He had obviously been locked in the carrier for a while and he was terrified of humans when he came into care. While we don’t know much about his life before arriving at his foster home, Tiggas beautifully expressive eyes tell the story of a difficult journey.

It’s been a long road of trust-building for Tigga. Because of his early experiences, Tigga is very timid and he tends to run and hide when people approach quickly. He’s especially frightened of men, particularly those wearing high-visibility clothing. However, he does trust and enjoy the company of his foster mum and one of her teenage sons, and he thrives in a quiet, calm environment.

Tigga is happiest when he’s outside in the catio, lounging and sleeping in his safe, quiet space. He doesn’t really enjoy being picked up, but he has made great progress in learning to trust, through constant reassurance and reading his body language. With time and patience, he will come to you for head rubs at night, and he enjoys a good chin scratch.

Tigga can get overstimulated easily, so it’s important to be gentle with him. He will let you know if he’s had enough and it’s important to read his body language. A home with children under 12 would not be suitable for him.

Tigga isn’t very interested in other cats, especially males, which he tends to avoid. Please keep this in mind when considering adoption. He’s a good eater, loving his biscuits and a serving of wet food in the morning and evening, as well as plenty of fresh water. He is also very clean and he uses the litter tray without issue.

Medical Info: Tigga has FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which is similar to HIV in humans. However, it’s important to note that FIV cannot be transmitted to humans, or to other non-feline animals. Normal social interactions between cats do not pose a risk of infection and Tigga has been living with multiple other cats with no issues.

FIV weakens the immune system, making Tigga more susceptible to infections. He occasionally has abscesses that need treatment, and reduced stress and prompt care is essential to manage these. Like many FIV-positive cats, Tigga may sometimes appear “off,” showing signs of weight loss or weakness. He needs to be kept indoors or indoors with a cat run, to prevent exposure to secondary infections and to avoid any chance of spreading the virus to other cats.

Tigga is a gentle soul who just needs patience and understanding as he continues his journey to trust. A household with no children, or with older children would be ideal for him. If you are the right fit for Tigga, he will definitely reward you with love, it would just need to be in his own quiet, sweet way.
